Arts & Recreation

Start with an 18-hole golf course, home of PGA’s Chad Campbell that ranks as one of the best and least expensive courses in West Texas. The Andrews County Golf course is a beautiful, but challenging course for both amateur and experienced golfers. Use your cart if you wish, and enjoy golf in casual, relaxed surroundings.

Our Senior Activity Center and County Youth Recreation Center also offer many recreational facilities designed to meet the needs of all ages. A variety of recreational opportunities for the youth of Andrews are available such as baseball, basketball, football, cheerleading, tennis, volleyball, softball, and soccer. The programs have produced, among others, collegiate All-American and NFL running back Shaud Williams. And throughout the year, various organizations in the community offer adult recreational events and leagues.

Residents enjoy a number of public parks conveniently located throughout Andrews. Andrews County offers many acres of community parks and athletic fields containing outdoor grills, picnic grounds, playgrounds, softball fields, as well as basketball and tennis courts. You can take a brisk walk around a park, jump into a refreshing indoor or outdoor swimming pool, fish at City Lake, play tennis all day and night on one of our lighted tennis courts, or just take advantage of the wonderful climate for gardening.

Andrews Independent School District offers many avenues for cultural outlets through their local drama, music and arts programs. In addition, the community is exposed to many cultural and art events through local committees and organizations. Residents can participate in family-oriented theater productions or display their talents during the annual Andrews Art Guild Show. The Andrews Art Guild Association offers venues for the many talented area artists whose works include pottery, painting, sculpture, and photography.
